The Spanish news agency EFE has published a short article under the subject "Indonesia incubates the exquisite bird nest that China pays at the gold price". Unfortunately the reporter missed to mention that Swifts' nests usually are occupied. Lukas Wihardjo a conservationist that fights to save some of these eggs and chicks exposes that the “bird nest” industry destroys hundreds of thousands of eggs and even chicks every year. Lukas has to pay an expensive price to the industry to obtain some of those eggs and chicks that ultimately would be eliminated.
